Chicago Coalition for the Homeless

Service Learning

Grade Levels: K-12

Since 1980, the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) has had a clear mission: “We organize and advocate to prevent and end homelessness because we believe housing is a human right in a just society.”

CCH's Speakers Bureau provides CPS students with three-day listening sessions in Classroom. Key Speakers present testimonies of their experience with homelessness with the goal to debunk homeless stereotypes. Students will then be invited to lobby for policy change in Springfield Illinois.
