Mikva Challenge
Civics Course Service Learning Student Voice
Grade Levels: 6-12
Mikva Challenge offers teachers curricula, professional development workshops, student events, and other classroom supports designed to help youth become empowered, informed, and active citizens who will promote a just and equitable society.
Teachers can participate in any combination of three program areas:
- Project Soapbox (a public speaking curriculum)
- Issues to Action (identify an issue, examine root causes & take action)
- Elections in Action (youth take electoral action such as serving as Student Election Judges, campaigning for candidates, and/or hosting events ranging from voter education drives to candidate forums)
