Organizing for Plastic Alternatives (OPA)
Civics Course Service Learning Student Voice
Grade Levels: K-12
Organizing for Plastic Alternatives (OPA) provides education, opportunities for direct action, and pursues public policies that address the problem of single-use plastics in Chicago, Illinois, and around the country.
We partner with CPS to provide resources and speakers as well as campaign/project opportunities for students/classrooms to explore and act on the ever-growing problem of single-used plastics and how we can decrease our plastic footprint through individual measures and collective policy action. We are currently working keeping abreast of emerging policy development opportunities.
